A short prayer as I begin Lent

Dear God, as I begin Lent today and turn my heart to you, may I give myself more fully, more lovingly, more passionately in the rapture of your tender embrace. Do not let me wander so far from you as to get lost, but walk with me along this journey. Cleave to me as I cleave to you, and as you hold me close in your merciful arms, whisper to me your gracious will that I may only see your beauty and truth in this world. These things I pray through Jesus Christ my Lord. To him, to you, and to the Holy Spirit, be all glory and honour, now and forever. Amen.
